“Slurry II” is the second part of a two-part project documenting the people and places I encountered in my years in the concrete cutting industry. Photographed between 2012-2014, I used both a variety of 35mm cameras as well as a large format camera. “Slurry II” is made up of a series of contemplative portraits, landscapes, and environmental photographs shot on a large format camera. By dividing the project in this way, I hoped to capture the realities of daily life in this industry, as well as the exceptional beauty that can be found in the ugliest of places. In both cases, my work celebrates the quotidian.
